IDTInstitute was founded in 1957, and is currently staffed by faculty members with practival and professional experience in the Architectural, Engineering, CADD (Computer Aided Drafting/Design) and Computer and Electronics fields.
The college strives to graduate students who are well-trained and technically qualified to enter their chosen field or to continue their education at the baccalaureate or higher level. IDTInstitute has 50 years of leadership and experience in preparing students for careers. The college stays abreast of current industry developments, and continues to provide the personal attention that students need to succeed.
IDTI also offers skills training to industry, and individual workers, that improve on-the-job capabilities. Programs can be custom-designed for individual companies, and always has regularly-offered courses in many technical programs.
Computer Aided Drafting and Design — Architectural Program
This program prepares graduates for employment as a CADD Drafter/Designer specializing in the Architectural Drafting field. Thr program offers basic through advanced architectural design drafting instructing. Students develop skills that enable him/her to produce both computer assisted and manual production drawings. The emphasis in this program is on architectural construction detail production drawings, drafting concepts, and computerization techniques (AutoCAD) of these drawings.

We pride ourselves in being a "Tree City, USA". Though all the seasons are wonderful, summer is a special time of year as it is our sailing and boating season.
The Town of Babylon Beaches, available to village residents is located on the Atlantic Ocean just 20 minutes away by car across the Robert Moses Bridge. Amityville's proximity to NYC makes for a relatively easy commute to Manhattan by car or the Long Island Railroad.
