As an educational institution, Globe University/Minnesota School of Business has been serving the Twin Cities area for over 130 years. It was originally two separate schools (Globe College and Minnesota School of Business) that operated along the same general career preparation lines.

Graphic Design Student Elk River, MinnesotaGlobe College was founded in 1885 and Minnesota School of Business opened its doors in 1877. The focus has always been on preparing graduates for employment in cutting-edge professional fields. Interactive Media and Graphic Design

The Interactive Media and Graphic Design program is offered as a diploma or an Associate degree. Both courses focus on the fundamentals of graphic design – including color theory, illustration, image manipulation, design, and layout – in addition to the basics of web design and delivery. These field-focused courses are also complemented by business training, enabling students to learn the skills in advertising, marketing, and small business management needed to either work as part of a firm or branch out to start a freelance business.

Graduates move on to work in advertising, corporate design, and commercial design for both web-based and printed publications. Those who complete the Associate course (a two-year program that includes general education classes in science, communications, and humanities) are eligible to take the Apple Pro and Adobe certification exams.

Media Business

Available online or on campus, the Media Business program at Globe University - Minnesota School of Business is ideal for students looking to complete technical training in a media field. As such, students with an existing two-year degree in a creative field might be able to earn a bachelor's degree in as little as 18 months. Graduates of the Media Business will be prepared to work in a wide variety of career fields, including SEO/internet copywriting, digital imaging, media training, advertising, marketing, audio production, or media sales.

GU/MSB is registered with the Iowa Department of Public Instruction. Accreditation can be found through the Accrediting Council for Independent Colleges and Schools and the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs. It is also authorized to operate in North Dakota by the State Board for Career and Technical Education.
