About Westwood College Atlanta
Originally known as the Denver Institute of Technology, Westwood College was founded in Denver, Colorado in 1953. Over the years, Westwood College has grown and now offers degree programs in Design, Business, Computer & Information Technology, Healthcare and Industrial Services.
Now the college includes eighteen campuses across the United States. Students also can enroll in online programs without attending campus based courses. Students at Westwood College include a wide range of ages -- from recent high-school graduates and young adults to working adults who want to acquire new skills. Graphic Design AND Multi Media Program
This program prepares students for entry-level jobs in the graphic design and multimedia industry. The program teaches students how to create designs that visually communicate in both print and multimedia environments. Both technical and general education courses help students to develop skills in logic, critical thinking, problem solving, and general communication. Graduates are prepared for positions as production artists, graphic designers, Web page designers, and multimedia designers.
Upon graduation from the program, students should be able to create illustrations and layouts by using industry standard software, create and design Web sites, create and animate virtual objects in a 3D, design and create presentations utilizing animation, video, and sound and create and edit video presentations utilizing industry standard editing software.
In addition students will be able to prepare digital files for pre-press, use hand rendered layouts and story boards to communicate and develop quality presentations, apply graphic design business practices toward a variety of business situations, professionally communicate as readers, critical thinkers, writers, listeners and speakers, and build a portfolio, prepare for interviews, write a resume, and conduct a professional job search.
