About The Art Institute of Atlanta-Decatur

The Art Institute is a media arts, design, and culinary arts post-secondary school that offers bachelor's and associate's degrees. Program Advisory Committees and more than 100 faculty members include working professionals who bring a real-world perspective, work setting and industry standards into the classroom.

Programs are offered on a year-round basis and are reviewed by faculty and industry professionals to ensure they meet the needs of a changing marketplace. The school partners with national and local employers to help ensure an education that benefits both students and employers.

Diploma in Advertising Design

Beginning with a solid foundation in 2-D design and drawing, students of the Diploma in Advertising Design program will also study computer illustration, layout and digital photography. The program culminates with students learning how to combine these skills into effective and creative web sites and ads.

Upon graduation, students of the Diploma in Advertising Design program are prepared to seek employment in design studios, marketing firms, production companies, and other design-related firms.

Diploma in Digital Design

Creating corporate identity through product packaging, posters, information systems, brochures, and programs, the art of digital design is one of creativity and innovation.

Graduates of the Diploma in Digital Design program are prepared for entry level positions with digital service bureaus, printing companies, and in-house communication departments. During the program, students will study design elements, print production, basic web design, and computer illustration, in addition to other skills critical to success as a digital designer.

Bachelor of Arts in Advertising

Infusing vital communication skills with marketing, design, and business components, the Bachelor of Arts in Advertising program is a 36 month program that will prepare students for positions in advertising, in addition to entry-level employment as a advertising artist, creative director, or account executive.

Beginning with the fundamentals of color and design, this program includes instruction on media skills, and culminates with the formation of an advertising campaign that includes various aspects of media, with the goal of moving an audience towards a desired action.

Bachelor of Arts in Visual & Game Programming

The Bachelor of Arts in Visual & Game Programming degree is designed to prepare students for entry-level positions as a technical developer, 3-D tools programmer, artist wizard, rendering wrangler, or other entertainment/game production position.

Beginning with a comprehensive foundation of art and design, this program moves into 3-D animation, motion capture management, and pipeline streaming. The blending of artistic designs with practical sensibility, the Bachelor of Arts in Interior Design program is a 36 month program that teaches the fundamentals of the exciting profession of Interior Design.

Students of this program will study the histories of modern art and design, master computer-aided drafting programs, and create effective design solutions by studying ergonomics, lighting, building codes, acoustics, and furniture design. Bachelor of Fine Arts in Media Arts & Animation
