The Art Institute is a media arts, design, and culinary arts post-secondary school that offers bachelor's and associate's degrees.
Program Advisory Committees and more than 100 faculty members include working professionals who bring a real-world perspective, work setting and industry standards into the classroom. Programs are offered on a year-round basis and are reviewed by faculty and industry professionals to ensure they meet the needs of a changing marketplace. The school partners with national and local employers to help ensure an education that benefits both students and employers.
Students can get on-the-job training by participating in internships or externships at local businesses and national corporations. The Career Services office monitors industry trends and employer satisfaction in order to fulfill employers needs and enable career success for program graduates.
Graphic Design Program
The Art Institute of California – Orange County is the first step toward a career in graphic design. Students can select from a two year Associate’s Degree or four year Bachelor’s Degree program. Students develop basic skills in design, illustration, painting, and typography, and are trained in creative problem solving and the ability to offer solutions that are successful in the business of commercial graphics.
Emphasis is placed on learning the skills and techniques of both computer graphics and traditional design and production tools, such as the drawing board and drawing instruments. Advanced training includes the execution of assignments encountered by professionals in the field. Students graduate with the training and portfolio normally required for an entry-level position in visual communications.
Students who complete the Graphic Design Program at The Art Institute of California qualify for entry-level positions in publishing, television, and advertising agencies.
