About Platt College, Los Angeles, California
Platt College Los Angeles lies in the foothills of the San Gabriel Mountains approximately 40 miles east of Los Angeles and one hour west of Palm Springs. Winter skiing is only a 45-minute drive from the Los Angeles area. Platt programs offer career-focused study for students who have some prior work and/or college experience. All Los Angeles students live off campus and the majority of students commute by car. Surrounded by the growing suburb of Los Angeles, the campus is serviced by nearby Los Angeles International Airport and a bus line stops one block from campus.
Graphic Design Program
The Graphic Design program encompasses a variety of classes in multimedia education, including web page and interactive design, digital video editing, interface design, motion graphics, 3D modeling and animation. This program teaches ways of creative thinking and an understanding of current design trends. It combines visual communication and solid design principles with general education classes.
The college offers Certificate and Diploma programs, and Associate Degree programs ranging from five to twenty months. Graduates qualify for careers as graphic art designers, production artists, illustrators, advertising art directors, computer artists and layout artists and other professions.
Financial Aid
Financial aid representatives at Platt College will work with students to provide assistance for financial aid needs. Eligible applicants may benefit from federally sponsored programs which provide grants, or loans and federal work-study programs. The College participates in the Cal Grant program, offered by the state of California Student Aid Commission. Awards are based on need and academic achievement. Students who demonstrate exceptional academic performance, can apply for several scholarships at Platt College.
