If you have a strong creative sense and enjoy using the computer, the Graphic Design program is for you. Graphic designers work on everything from advertising layouts and illustrations to multimedia and animation production. It is an exciting, competitive and growing field. Platt College works with Program Advisory Committees and employers to ensure that the program is relevant and up to date for today's workplace. Students get real-world experience and work on real-world problems to ensure their knowledge and skills are valuable to potential employers.

A Branch of Platt College Los Angeles, Platt College Huntington Beach lies in the foothills of the San Gabriel
Mountains. It is one hour west of Palm Springs and approximately 40 miles east of Los Angeles. Winter skiing
is only a 45-minute drive from the Huntington Beach area. Platt students are career-focused, most having
prior work and/or some college experience. All Huntington Beach students live off campus and the majority of
students commute by car. Surrounded by the growing suburb of Huntington Beach, the campus is serviced
by nearby Huntington Beach International Airport and a bus line stops one block from campus.
Graphic Design Program
The Graphic Design program at Platt College encompasses a variety of classes in multimedia education, including web page and interactive design, interface design, digital video, motion graphics, digital video editing, 3D modeling and animation. This program teaches ways of creative thinking and an understanding of current design trends. It combines visual communication and solid design principles with general education classes.
Students can earn a Certificate or Diploma, and Associate Degree programs are available that range from five to twenty months. Graduates qualify for careers as production artists, graphic art designers, advertising art directors, illustrators, layout artists and computer artists and other professions.
Financial Aid
Financial aid representatives at Platt College will work with students to provide assistance for financial aid needs. Eligible applicants may benefit from federally sponsored programs which provide grants, or loans and federal work-study programs. The College participates in the Cal Grant program, offered by the state of California Student Aid Commission. Awards are based on need and academic achievement. Students who demonstrate exceptional academic performance, can apply for several scholarships at Platt College.

the largest stretch of uninterrupted beachfront on the West Coast. Tourism is a vital part of the
economy, with 11 million visitors during the summer, on weekends and for special events.
The area has one of the largest recreational piers in the world, public parks, equestrian trails and riding stables, a marina, wildlife preserve, an eight-mile biking, inline skating, jogging, and walking trail along the ocean. The beaches feature professional sporting events such as Surfing, Pro Beach Volleyball and Championship Skateboarding.
The Art Center and Playhouse in the city provide many opportunities for art installations and theatre performances. In addition, the museums and libraries provide a strong cultural foundation.
