Virginia College has several campuses throughout Alabama, Florida, Texas, and Mississippi. Computer Aided Drafting and Design Program
The two year Computer Aided Drafting and Design program lets students earn an Occupational Associate’s Degree. Students in the program become proficient with aspects of the design and manufacturing process, learning to make 2D designs and technical drawings, and 3D prototypes and models.
They also receive training in the CADD (computer aided design and drafting) field, which includes architectural and mechanical designs, as well as customization and programming. Students of the Computer Aided Drafting and Design program have access to all the tools and software that they will be using in their field.
Animation and Game Design
The Animation and Game Design program is a four year Bachelor of Applied Arts degree program. Working on fundamentals of artistic design, story development, project management, and digital content creating, students learn to create and build new worlds. Students also work on 3D modeling, character design, animation, and game content.
The Animation and Game Design program focuses on the several components, including conception, design, and plan animated works, practice story development, becoming proficient with media and software, creating game and character designs with existing game engines, determining where the game industry is headed. These skills allow students to enter the workforce with the skills and knowledge they need to succeed.
Multimedia Management
This four year Bachelor of Applied Arts Degree is designed for students who want to work in a multimedia career at the management level. It combines aspects of business, design, and technology. Students learn to be effective leaders in the business world, as well as learning technology like CAD, audio/visual production, web animation, and web design. Not only will they be able to use the software and media to produce tangible results, they will be able to direct and supervise others in the field.
Digital Media
FIDM offers students interested in careers in visual effects, sound design, effects editing, editing, DVD authoring, or 3D animating or modeling a 90 credit Associate’s of Art or 60 credit Associate’s of Art Professional Designation program.
The Associate’s program builds a foundation of digital skills and tv production. Students learn to mesh sound, light, and sight into a seamless digital format. Technical skills are emphasize, and equal importance is given to creative thinking and problem solving, communication, and marketing concepts.
For entrance into the second year of study, students have to have achieved a 3.0 GPA or higher in all courses. Students can enter the Associates of Art Professional Design course with a 3.0 GPA or higher in their prior degree. The designation certifies that students are qualified to enter the digital media field.

The Huntsville campus of Virginia College is small with under 800 students. Class sizes are also small, so faculty members can get to know their students personally.
