About Virginia College- Birmingham
Virginia College has several campuses throughout Alabama, Florida, Texas, and Mississippi. VC is owned by the Education Corporation of America and continues its tradition of meeting the needs of both students and the community with quality, career-geared instruction and programs. In addition, students at Virginia College get the benefit of career placement assistance, flexible class schedules, and the opportunity to take classes online.
VC – Birmingham even offers students the Virginia College Employer Guarantee. This means that if graduates begin their careers, and their employers don’t feel they are sufficiently skilled in a particular area, they can come back to VC and take the classes at no charge. Computer Aided Drafting and Design Program
The two year Computer Aided Drafting and Design program lets students earn an Occupational Associate’s Degree. Students in the program become proficient with aspects of the design and manufacturing process, learning to make 2D designs and technical drawings, and 3D prototypes and models.
They also receive training in the CADD (computer aided design and drafting) field, which includes architectural and mechanical designs, as well as customization and programming. Students of the Computer Aided Drafting and Design program have access to all the tools and software that they will be using in their field.

Virginia College is accredited by the Accrediting Council of Independent Colleges and Schools (ACICS) at all of its campus locations.
Faculty and Facilities
The Birmingham campus of Virginia College is small with under 800 students. Class sizes are also small, so faculty members can get to know their students personally. Instead of being just a face in the crowd, you’ll be a valued addition to your classes. This allows for personalized instruction, hands-on work, and lots of time for discussion and learning. Faculty members at VC are professionals in their fields. Virginia College – Birmingham is located at 65 Bagby Drive. The campus provides a full range of student services. VC-Birmingham does not offer campus housing, but the surrounding area is large enough to support ample housing options for students.
Financial Aid
Financial aid is available to qualifying students. VC participates in federal student aid programs, so applicants and students should fill out the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) to determine if they are eligible for aid.

Founded in 1871, Birmingham is a center for industry in the southern United States. Also known as "The Pittsburgh of the South", much of Birmingham's original industry centered around steel and iron production. Today, this business community has expanded, as banking, insurance, medicine, publishing, and biotechnology companies have all come to call Birmingham home. 
Not known just for it's lucrative industry, Birmingham is also home to a diverse arts community. With the Alabama Ballet and the Alabama Symphony Orchestra both residing in Birmingham, the city has a respectable classical arts scene. In addition, the Alabama Theatre hosts film screenings, concerts and performances, and is an ideal location for any occasion.
The city of Birmingham is also home to several museums, including the Birmingham Museum of Art, and the Birmingham Civil Rights Institute. Both offer a glimpse of historic Birmingham, and lend an understanding to the progressive path the city is currently embarking upon.
Like several major cities, Birmingham is undergoing a revitalization of its downtown district. Lofts are being built in formerly abandoned buildings, and new restaurants are opening daily.
